Wedding accessories for 2012

Weddings are considered to be the most important day of any woman’s life. What makes it extra special for her are finer details like her wedding dress, the wedding cake, etc. The perfect wedding dress is incomplete without suitable accessories.

The most basic of all accessories are a pretty necklace and a pair of earrings. Necklaces are a must especially when the gown has off-shoulder straps or a deep neckline. Brides’ earrings are usually studs or very small hangings, nothing too big, as the focus has to be on the bride’s face. Bracelets are also quite popular with short-sleeved gowns. These 3 are usually bought as a set.

Another popular wedding accessory is the crown which the bride wears in her hair. It is usually small and elegant, serving the dual purpose of looking pretty and holding the veil in place. The bridesmaids’ counterpart of this hair accessory would be a bejewelled hair pin or hair-band. Brides, too, can opt for this once the veil is removed.

As far as the veil goes, there are no prizes for guessing how important it is to make or break the bride’s dress. Always choose one that goes with the dress and enhances the beauty of the bride. The length of the veil can be chosen according to one’s choice.

The shoes worn by the bride are also very important. They must have at least a slight heel, an elegant design and be comfortable to walk in.

As far as the groom goes, wedding accessories are limited to shoes, ties and cufflinks. So, one must choose these with extra care. The tie and cufflinks along with the handkerchief should match in colour. Cufflinks can be studded or plain, depending on choice

As important as the dress may be, the accessories are what sets any regular gown or outfit apart from that extra special wedding dress.
